Trust Funding and Plan Implementation Assistance

We offer full-service trust funding and asset titling assistance to ensure that your plan is properly implemented.  We are happy to work with your financial advisor, trust officer and/or accountant to ensure that your plan is well-coordinated among all your advisors or refer you to qualified advisors as needed.

For simple estate plans where you prefer to handle the trust funding and asset titling yourself, we can provide you with written guidelines and will review those in detail with you at your document signing meeting.  Our services can be customized to meet your wishes, but of course in some cases our assistance is needed to ensure the correct implementation.

Estate, Gift and Trust Tax Reporting

We can assist with the preparation of the following tax documents, or coordinate with your accountant if desired:

  • Form 706, Estate (and Generation-Skipping Transfer) Tax Return
  • Form 709, Gift Tax Return
  • Form 1041, Income Tax Return for Trusts and Estates

Blended Family and Non-Traditional Family Issues

Your estate plan should reflect how special and unique your family makeup is. With 50% of families in the United States being remarried or re-coupled, blended families are something many people need to account for their estate planning.  We can customize your estate plan to meet your unique family dynamic and concerns.  Often, we are really creating and merging three plans – each spouse’s separate plan and a joint plan.  If you have blended or non-traditional family, we will make sure your wishes are carried out to the final detail so your plan is comprehensive and clear to protect all parties.

Simplifying Your Existing Plan

Have you already created a plan, but can’t clearly understand the details? Bring your existing plan to us and we’ll help you simplify it as much as possible so that you have a plan that is clear.  There’s no reason your estate plan should be hard to understand. In fact, your plan should be as simple as possible to meet your goals.  We have many happy clients who feel relieved by finally understanding their plan.  We will never ‘sell’ you an over-bearing estate plan you don’t need.
